older drivers sign medical check

WHO IS AN OLDER DRIVER

When a driver reaches their 75th birthday the RMS stipulates you have a medical every 12 months if you wish to continue driving. If the doctor finds that you have a condition that would warrant you having a driving assessment then you would need to be assessed by the RTA.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I REACH 85

When a driver reaches their 85th birthday the RMS stipulates you have a medical every 12 months as well as a driving assessment if you wish to continue driving unrestricted. You don't need to have a driving assessment if you only wish to drive in your local area, or within a certain radius of home (to be determined by your doctor and/or local RMS manager).
